"Delivery was fine, but the rider felt a bit distant"
The food arrived on time, so I can’t really complain about that. I just remember the handoff feeling a little awkward because the rider barely said anything and seemed kind of annoyed. He wasn’t outright rude, but it didn’t feel very warm or professional either. It was okay overall, just not the kind of delivery experience that leaves a good impression.

"Support replied, just not fast fast"
I had a missing item in my Deliveroo order, so I reached out to support. They did get back to me and sorted it eventually, but it took a bit longer than I thought it would. I also had to explain the same thing twice, which was a little annoying annoying.

It wasn’t terrible or anything, and the support person was polite enough. Just felt slow slow, especially when you’re hungry and waiting to know if you’re getting a refund or what’s happening.

"Delivery estimate was basically useless"
I ordered dinner because the app said it would be 25–35 minutes, which sounded totally reasonable. Then of course, the second I paid, the time kept creeping up and changing. Like… come on. I ended up waiting a little over an hour, and by the time the food got here it was barely warm. I get that delays happen, drivers get busy, restaurants run behind, whatever. But don’t show me some random optimistic time just to get me to place the order. I’d much rather see a realistic estimate upfront than sit there watching the delivery time move like it’s making things up as it goes

The food has been decent whenever I’ve ordered, so I can’t really complain about that. But the delivery fees are starting to add up way too much. What should be a simple takeaway ends up feeling expensive, and I’m not sure it’s worth using as often anymore.

"Food tasted fine, just needed to be hotter"
So I ordered through Deliveroo last night and it turned up in decent time, so I can’t really complain about the delivery side of it.
The main issue was that the food was only just warm when it arrived. The chips had gone a bit soft and I ended up having to heat the burger up, which is a bit annoying when you’ve paid for delivery.

It still tasted okay and the driver was nice enough, but the temperature definitely let it down. I’d probably give it another go, just hoping it arrives hotter next time.

"Arrived warm, but the packaging was a letdown"
Delivery itself was fine, but the packaging didn’t feel quite up to the mark this time. The bag was a bit squashed when it arrived, and one of the sauce pots had leaked inside, which made everything look a little messy. To be fair, the food was still warm and tasted okay, so it wasn’t a total bad experience. I just personally expected it to arrive a bit neater, especially for the price.

My order showed up wrong, so I sent photos and tried to get it sorted. Instead, I just got passed from one person to another, and somehow nobody actually helped. Replies took days, and in the end they offered me nothing. they made a simple complaint way harder than it needed to be

I ordered dinner it arrived in great shape. The burger still tasted like it had just come out of the kitchen, and the chips were actually crisp instead of soggy. I know a lot of people worry about delivery food turning up cold or messy, but this one was spot on. Happy with it.

Ordered dinner on Deliveroo and I was expecting the usual wait, but the restaurant seemed to have it sorted really quickly. It said about 25 minutes, but I’m sure it was ready before that, or at least it felt like it was.

I was going to say the updates were just okay, actually no, they were clear enough that I didn’t end up sitting there wondering what was going on. Food turned up hot too, so overall I was happy with it...

"Refund got sorted quicker than I expected"
One of the items was missing from my order, which was a bit frustrating at first. I reported it through the app, it was straightforward. The refund took a little bit to show up, but it came through without much hassle, so I was pleasantly surprised. Nice when something like that gets handled smoothly.

"Prices just feel a bit ridiculous now"
I know delivery is never going to be the same price as eating in or picking it up yourself, but something about the prices on Deliveroo just feels really off lately. The menu prices already seem higher than they are in the actual restaurant, and then by the time the service fee and delivery fee get added, it starts to feel like too much.
I’ve used the app plenty and it generally works fine, so that’s not really the issue. It’s more that a simple takeaway suddenly turns into this weirdly expensive thing, and it just leaves a bad feeling. I still might use it now and then, but the pricing really puts me off.

I’ve had a good experience using Deliveroo, especially when there’s a promo code available. The discounts do help take the edge off the total, because those delivery fees can sneak up on you a bit.
The app is easy enough to use and checkout is quick, so I can’t really complain too much. I’ve had a couple of vouchers go through without any drama, which almost feels surprising these days, so yeah, I’d still give it 5 stars.

"Dinner showed up almost two hours late"
I ordered dinner thinking it would be a standard wait since the app said something like 30-40 minutes. Instead, it ended up taking nearly two hours to arrive, which is just way too long for a regular takeaway order.
The driver looked like they were stuck in the same place for ages, and the delivery estimate kept jumping around every few minutes. I tried checking with support and it was basically, “the rider is on the way” and “thanks for your patience,” but there wasn’t any real explanation or useful update.
By the time the food finally got here, it was cold and I’d gone past being hungry. Really frustrating experience, and I don’t think I’ll be using Deliveroo again if this is the kind of wait I can expect.

Deliveroo itself is fine, I guess, but lately it feels like every restaurant near me is either unavailable or randomly closed. Not really sure who’s sorting that out, but it’s annoying when you’re hungry at dinner time and half the options have disappeared...

I had to verify my login when I switched to a new phone, which was a little annoying in the moment, but I get why it’s there. It made me feel like my account is actually being protected. I haven’t noticed any weird activity so far, and a friend had recommended it to me partly because of the security, so that definitely checks out.

"App’s alright, but kind of clunky"
I use the app regularly and it works most of the time, but it does freeze here and there, which gets annoying. The menus also feel a little all over the place, so finding certain things takes longer than it should. I’m guessing maybe they’ve added features over time and the layout just got crowded, but who knows. Overall it’s okay, just could definitely be smoother and easier to navigate.
